1. What is my current ecological footprint? 3.98 earths
2. How would my lifestyle change if it was reduced to 1 Planet? How did your lifestyle have to change? Explain in detail. 200+ words
My life style would change drastically. i would have to have more appliances that save energy, i would have to save money so i would spend to much on useless items, and i would have to make sure i don't waste electricity, water and heat. I believe that i live a good decent life, but once i saw my footprint, i realized that i had to make some, serious changes. I will buy a couple of water bottles and refill them frequently, i will reduce my spending, and make sure i have all organic foods and safe equipment from the planet. You need to change in order to grow. You can’t grow if you just stay where you are. You can’t grow if you don’t change the way you think and act. In fact, changing your life is a continuous process. It never ends. The moment you stop changing, you stop growing. When I re-took the test I try to score as low as possible so i can see what we would have to do to save our planet. I scored a 0.28 Earth which is very beneficial, but at the same time very difficult to do. In order for us to have an ecological footprint of 1 planet, we would need to change our lives completely, saving water to the max, recycle everything all the time, don't travel a lot with vehicle that use gas, save money by turning off the light and electricity, etc. If we had to change our lives to benefit our planet, we would have to change everything that we live with and how we live. sacrificing what we want for what we actually need to survive. It can actually mean, retracing our steps so we can live a life that more simple and stop with the age of technology that can damage our Earth.
3. What do have to do to to reduce my ecological footprint by 1 planet? Explain in detail. How realistic is this compared to reducing it to 1 planet? Reflect: How does this challenge or change the way you think about your future?
If i have to be realistic, the best way for me to reduce my ecological footprint is to save money, stop sending and make sure i save up food so i wont over eat and over buy.
